Web Development

PHP and mySQL development.

Web Development is at the heart of everything we do.

Once upon a time, Web sites were static brochures presented on computer screens around the world. Today’s world expects much more from a Web site than just text and pictures. It demands interaction with prospects, analytics, trend measurement, 24/7 commerce, and the list goes on. All of these functions are made possible through server side code and web applications.

Do I need a web application?

The majority of people that contact The Lanzarote Web Designer need a front facing Web site, that sits on top of our pre-built content management system. However, every now and then we receive an enquiry for something a little less ordinary which requires additional planning, development time and testing. The chances are you will already know if your project is a little more unique, but get in touch with me to talk about your requirements and we can point you in the right direction.

What does a web application cost?

Each web application is completely unique, which means that the costs can vary. When requesting a quote it is important that you detail every bit of functionality that you require, as missing a feature out could increase costs further down the line. I am more than happy to talk to you to ensure that we get the best possible understanding of your project.

How long will my development project take?

Again, this depends on the scale of the project. I have worked on development projects that have taken 1 month and another over 7 months. It also depends if the scope of the project changes at any time. We will always aim to keep you updated as to the status of the project so that you can plan around the development time.

What if I run into problems once the project is live?

Once the project is live it will have already been through rigorous acceptance testing and signed off as fit for purpose. I provide 1 months free support after it goes live. I believe this gives the product a good run out in the real world where we can iron out any final issues that didn’t get picked up during the pre-live testing phase. Once the month has expired I can provide a rolling maintenance contract or bespoke support agreement.

I'm ready to go. What's next?

As development projects are usually completely unique, I need to gain an understanding of exactly what it is you want the application to achieve. Not only from an end goal point of view, but all the little interactions and processes along the way. Every little detail is essential to ensuring that the project is delivered on time and on budget.
